FAQ

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What accessories come with heated motorcycle gloves?

THE Xtreme motorcycle gloves are delivered without connectors.
We know that around 80% of our end customers use their heated gloves with batteries; at a time when we must all act to limit waste and waste, Gerbing has chosen to make the wire pack (CXPP + fuses + CXY) optional.

How to connect the heated jacket and heated gloves together?

The gloves connect to the jacket using the cables attached to the jacket's cuffs. You connect the glove cables to those coming out of the sleeves and you connect the jacket to the Temperature Controller (PDTC) that comes with the jacket. This connects to the cables located in the small zippered pocket on the left side; connect the cables marked "Jacket" together, then those marked "Glove"; only the cable marked "accessory" will remain, which will allow you to connect either the pants or the socks.

Can I connect my old GERBING XR(S)12, G12, TEX12, L12, T12 etc. heated gloves to the E-liner jacket from the current catalog?

Yes, by adding a dual thermostat (TCDP) which will allow you to independently regulate the temperature of the jacket and that of the gloves; in this case the thermostat (PDTC) supplied with the jacket will no longer be useful.

Can I plug my old JLSS-(EL) 12 Volt heated jacket into the current catalog gloves?

Yes, by adding a temperature controller (PDTC) which will allow you to regulate the jacket but which will keep the gloves in autonomous regulation thanks to the button fixed on the wrist.
If this doesn't work, it means your jacket needs a minor technical adjustment. GERBING will do this for you free of charge. In this case, you can fill out the form on the page product warranty.

Can I plug my old GERBING 12 Volt pants into the E-liner jacket from the current catalog?

Yes, you can use the temperature controller (PDTC) that comes with the jacket to regulate the jacket and pants at the same time. If you do not connect the gloves to the E-Liner jacket and that you therefore only use the jacket and the pants, you can also add a portable dual thermostat (TCDP) which will allow you to regulate the temperature of the pants and the jacket individually.

In which cases do I need to purchase additional cables that are not supplied with the products?

In the case of mixing old and new products (TCDP or PDTC)
To create more space on the cables between the products and the power supply (stand-alone battery or vehicle battery. (CXCC or CXP-50)

If you have a passenger and you are both wearing GERBING (CXSP) products
If you don't want visible cables (PM-PORT, and possibly a CXCC)

Can I use Gerbing socks for skiing?

Yes, with a 5A, 7A or 10A standalone battery for more autonomy

Can I use the E-liner heated jacket on a standalone battery?

Yes, with a 7A or 10A standalone battery for longer battery life. Please note: the 7A battery only works with the jacket alone. You cannot connect gloves to your jacket with this battery.
Please note that the E-Liner heated jacket has a high power output of 68 watts on 12 volts. The heating from the battery will therefore have a limited duration. If you use your jacket on your motorcycle, we recommend connecting it directly to your vehicle's battery.

What can I connect to a large 7A or 10A stand-alone battery?

Read the instructions for both batteries carefully by clicking on the following link: Battery Kit 10A-9900, Battery KIT 7A-7000

How to connect a complete GERBING hunting equipment?

Each product works separately with its own batteries but you also have the option of connecting the vest and socks or the vest and gloves to a 7A-7700 or 10A-9900 battery.

How to interconnect the complete GERBING equipment?

Connect the heated gloves to the heated jacket by connecting the cables from the gloves to those located in the sleeves of the jacket (at the wrists)
Connect the jacket to the heated pants by connecting the jacket's "accessory" cable to the pants' cable (located at the front under the waistband).
Connect the heated socks to the pants by connecting the sock cables to the pants cables (located at the calves)

When should I use the temperature controller (PDTC), the portable dual thermostat (TCDP) or the portable single thermostat (TCSP)?

The PDTC (Positive Temperature Controller) is used to regulate the temperature of the E-Liner jacket from the current catalog, possibly with gloves from the current catalog. It is also used for the combination: old 12-volt jacket with gloves from the current catalog. If this latter combination does not work on your jacket, it is possible that your jacket needs a small technical adjustment. GERBING will do this for you free of charge. In this case, you can fill out the form on the product warranty page.
The TCDP portable dual thermostat is used in the following combinations: old model 12 Volt jacket or current E-Liner jacket from the catalog and our old models of XR12, XRS12, G12, L12, W12, T12 or TEX12 gloves which do not have buttons on the cuffs.
The portable single thermostat is used to regulate the temperature of 12 Volt jackets from previous collections.

Can I plug all my Gerbing equipment into my vehicle's battery?

I can connect all of the following equipment to my vehicle's battery by putting the blue fuse on my cable (CXPP): gloves + jacket + pants or gloves + jacket + socks or with the red fuse: gloves + pants + socks
If you have gloves + jacket + pants + socks you will need to provide independent batteries

If the rider and passenger are equipped with Gerbing, is it necessary to have two battery cables (CXPP)?

If each person is equipped with only gloves, a single battery cable (CXPP) is sufficient, plus a splitter (CXSP) to be positioned at the battery cable exit.
If each person carries more products, 1 battery cable is required per person.

How do I care for my heated clothing?

Textile clothing can be hand washed in lukewarm water with detergent.
They should not be wrung or twisted as this would damage the cables.
Never leave batteries in pockets when washing your Gerbing heated clothing.

How do I maintain my heated gloves?

Heated leather gloves should be maintained with specific leather products. If they get wet, they should be allowed to air dry away from a heat source.
Heated gloves made of textile or dual-material materials must be waterproofed before use, despite the waterproof insert. This waterproofing will prevent the outer fabric from becoming too waterlogged in the event of rain.
