Cooling Vest for Sports

In collaboration with the NOC*NSF (Dutch Olympic Committee*Dutch Sports Federation), Izi BodyCooling developed the Hydrogel 13 Vest. After rigorous testing by athletes from various sports disciplines, this vest was adopted by the Dutch Olympic team for the Rio de Janeiro Games. Athletes can use this cooling garment not only during warm-up, but also as an effective aid during recovery. In addition, the Hydrogel 13 Vest is lightweight compared to other cooling vests, thus providing more comfort and functional weight reduction during exercise.

Regular use:

The vest cools through evaporation. To activate, immerse it in water for 20 minutes. The hydrogel beads in the square compartments absorb the water and turn into gel. Then, wrap the wet vest in a towel to remove excess water. The vest is ready to use, but may be slightly damp. To dry the fabric, hang the vest. Once dry, it will leave no traces of moisture on your clothes.

Heavy use (ice):

For more intense cooling, place the vest (unfolded) in the freezer. After 8 hours, the hydrogel compartments will be completely frozen, providing approximately 30 additional minutes of intense cooling depending on the vest model. Once the ice melts, the evaporation process resumes.
